Jessica Jones, Season 1 (2015) A superpowered private investigator with PTSD and alcoholism, hunted by Kilgrave, a man whose voice compels absolute obedience and who once controlled her for months. She kills him. It's one of the best things Marvel has made about coercion and its aftermath.

The Defenders (series, 2017) is where Jessica Jones first meets Matt Murdock — she, Matt, Luke Cage, and Danny Rand team up against the Hand, and she is memorably unimpressed by all three of them. She returns as Matt's ally in Born Again Season 2.
Six months after Season 1. Matt and Karen are fugitives; Matt has assembled a resistance and sinks Fisk's weapons freighter, the Northern Star. Jessica Jones returns as an ally. Heather Glenn, Matt's former partner, has fully joined Fisk's administration.
