What actually happens
Secret Invasion (SERIES, 2023) — Thirty years after Fury promised the Skrulls a home, a faction under Gravik decides to take Earth instead, infiltrating governments at the highest levels. Fury, aged and diminished, stops him. Maria Hill is killed, and Rhodey is revealed to have been a Skrull for an unspecified period.
Beyond the guide — added detail
Gravik's Super-Skrulls are the escalation that makes the season dangerous: he harvests DNA from Cull Obsidian, Groot, Frank Castle and others into a machine that stacks powers into a single Skrull body. Talos, Fury's oldest human-side ally and Gravik's opposite, is killed. Fury's own wife Priscilla is revealed to be a Skrull, and stays with him anyway.
